Julie and Stephen are proud to have been chosen as the pilot for the Green Tourism Business Scheme in Whitby and to have
been awarded "Gold," the highest level of achievement.
At The Waverleywe are committed to being
as green as possible and to do what we can to sustain both the environment and the local economy. Some of the steps we
are taking are listed below. If you would like more information please feel free to ask us about our green commitment.
Most of our products are
sourced locally and we have the vast majority of all our purchases delivered in order to avoid using the car.
We try to ensure that goods
from further field are Fairtrade (e.g. tea, coffee, chocolate and sugar on your hospitality tray) or proved to be ethically
sourced and sustainable.
CFL bulbs are used throughout to provide low
energy lighting and help cut our carbon emissions.
We recycle everything possible.
We are fully committed to
the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle way of thinking, and always looking to improve.
We
have information on public transport, walking & cycling which means that our guests can leave their car parked up
once they arrive. Check out our 7 Car Free Days.
Here at
The Waverleywe are committed to being as “Green”
as possible and we are members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme and would appreciate your feedback.
